ROAD ACCIDENT

 




            Road accident is a global tragedy with the ever-vising trend. Almost every day, We hear the news of the accident on the television, radio and internet. One report states that “ 1.2 million people die and 50 million are injured in road accident each year.

            To begin with, carelessness is one of the major cause of the road accidents. Under carelessness, we have various examples, which include, using the mobile phone while the vehicle  in moving, break the traffic rules and entering from the side road into the path of the vehicle. Furthermore, when inexperience and untrained that drive at night is one of the major cause of escalating accident rate in Sri Lanka.

In addition, most of the people drive after drinking alcohol, which may lead to dangerous road accident. Consumption of alcohol to celebrate any occasion is common. But when mixed with drinking it turns celebration into a misfortune. Alcohol reduces concentration. It decreases reaction time of a human body, Limbs take more to reach to the instructions of brain. It hampers vision sue to dizziness. Alcohol dampers fear and incite humans to take risks. All these factors while driving Couse accidents and many a times it proves fatal for every increase of 0.05 blood alcohol concentration, the risk of accident doubles.

Therefore, let us protect our lives by following all the rules of the road.

Sigiriya

                  Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya the name refers to a site of historical by a archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high.             According to the history of Sri Lanka this rock used as a kingdom in Sri Lanka by king Kashyapa in 5 th century. He built his palace on top of the rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE DAY

              My favorite time of the day is between 5 p. m and 7 p. m. This is the time when the sun is setting and the air is cooling down. At this time, I play some games, watch T.V, reading books.             My house is a large one. So, my family planted many trees surrounding our house, Birds come to the trees in the evening to sing their songs. I just sit under my favorite mango tree and listen to these songs.             However I cannot just sit quietly all the time. My parents sometimes ask me to help them. These I do gladly for the air is nice and cool. Working under a hot sun is one thing I don’t like. In the evening the sun is soft and gentle. So I like it.
